A Black child in a classroom
OUR MISSION AND VISION

Value of the Root to Wings toolkit

The Roots to Wings Toolkit offers practical tools to enhance the mental well-being of young people and their families. By leveraging existing community resources and promoting open communication, it creates a supportive environment for young people, parents, and educators. The toolkit addresses unique challenges faced by Black youth, including potential intergenerational trauma.

Ultimately, it fosters a community-wide shift towards greater understanding and support for mental health. This culturally responsive approach empowers individuals to build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create a positive impact on the lives of Black pre-teens in South London and beyond.

Introducing Mindful Move activities:

A mindful move is about you and your community taking a proactive and positive step to look after your mental health. We have Mindful Move activities throughout this toolkit for young people, families and educators.

You can also work your way through our Mindful Move activities with increasing levels of effort, going from easy, to medium or advanced.
